13th AVF Care Workshop: Role of Artificial Intelligence in Renal Diet

The 13th AVF Care Workshop was successfully conducted online on 30th October, focusing on educating and engaging dialysis patients. A total of 22 CKD patients attended the online session, making it an active and meaningful learning experience. The session aimed to introduce them to the evolving world of technology, particularly the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a friendly diet coach for them, in managing their renal diet more effectively.

The topic for the day, “Role of AI in Renal Diet,” was presented by Dr. Trisha, Renal Dietitian, who explained how patients can make use of AI tools like ChatGPT in their daily lives to clarify their doubts and queries related to kidney-friendly diets.

A live demonstration was given on how to access and use ChatGPT, helping patients understand its simple and practical applications for diet guidance, meal planning, and understanding food restrictions.

The session was highly interactive and engaging. The benefits and drawbacks of using AI were also discussed, illustrating each point with real-life examples to ensure better understanding among participants.

Towards the end, patients enthusiastically shared their thoughts and raising interesting questions. The participants expressed their appreciation and gratitude, mentioning how informative and eye-opening the session was. They were delighted to have learned something new, useful, and relevant that could support their day-to-day kidney care journey.

Overall, the workshop turned out to be an inspiring and educational experience, successfully blending technology with patient care to empower dialysis patients with knowledge and confidence in managing their renal health.
