4th and 5th AV Fistula Care Workshops – Dehradun Outreach

The energy in Dehradun was palpable as we conducted an impactful session, reaching over 100 patients and dozens of dialysis staff.

Morning Session: Max Hospital (Patients)

Patients were introduced to the Kidney Warrior Tool Kit simple yet comprehensive set including a stethoscope, renal diet chart, exercise guide, and care instructions.
Dr. Himanshu Verma explained how a stethoscope can be used at home to monitor access sounds.
Dr. Trisha (PhD- Renal Nutrition) gave dietary guidance tailored for CKD patients.
Dr. Manish (Physiotherapist) shared easy-to-do exercises to improve circulation around the fistula.

Evening Session: Synergy Hospital (Technicians)

This session focused on hands-on training with real-time feedback.
Technicians learned access types, correct puncture techniques, and how to guide patients through self-checks during dialysis.

What made this day special was the sense of shared purpose among everyone involved.
