2nd Renal Diet Online Session – Myths and Facts (31st July)

The focus of this online renal diet session was to bust common myths and clarify facts related to food choices, nutrition, and dietary restrictions in kidney disease by providing them with simple, evidence-based guidance.

The talk was led by our renal dietician, Dr. Trisha, in a highly interactive manner, where patients were encouraged to share their doubts and experiences. The highlight of the talk was the practical demonstrations such as showing patients how much salt should be consumed daily using household spoons, comparing a renal-friendly juice with a ‘so-called’ herbal juice, and busting a few myths in a hands-on way. Most myths were clarified using simple, everyday examples, making the concepts easy to understand and apply in daily life.

Patients expressed that the myth-vs-fact format helped them understand their diet better and reduced unnecessary fears.

The session was very well received, with patients actively participating and appreciating the practical tips shared. Many mentioned that they felt more confident about making food choices that are both safe and enjoyable. Overall, the event was a successful initiative, strengthening the connection between patients and the care team while empowering them with the right knowledge for their health.
